Hello again, Marla. Now that I have had time to digest your entire website and receive an email from your mother, I, like Greg, am truly inspired by your progress. Just to think how far you have come, makes me realize how much more I can accomplish in my life. In an email I sent to your mother, I shared some of my favorite memories of you in Pittsburgh and in Boulder. I would have to agree with Greg, though. That smile could (and apparently still does) light up a room. All of those late nights with you, Greg, Michelle, and Jessica. You helped us survive then; I'm glad you were able to help yourself survive this time. We're all on your side. I'll call or email soon. Love, Sam

Marla, It's been way too long. I just received a call from Sam Maniar about his wedding and he gave me a little information on what happened and gave me your website. I am inspired to see your courage and progress over the past year. I have enjoyed as much as anything seeing your smile in the photo's section...a smile that could always light up a room, carrying with you each momentous step you take in your recovery. You could always make a tough situation in Pittsburg nearly 10 years ago so much easier with your contagious positive attitude led by that wonderful smile. I will write again soon and update you a little more on my life, as I am currrently recovering from some temporary health issues. Seeing your progress and determination has certainly inspired me. I will look forward to additional inspiration as I follow your recovery. My wife and I will have you and your family in our prayers. Rememeber...Group 5 is alive!!! Marla, I lost touch with you around the time of your accident, and only now do I know why. I am speechless as I am reading through your website to see the ordeal that you and your family have been through. And, I am sad to say that I am sorry that I didn't know about this sooner. I only found this website because I was doing a search on the internet to find an address to invite you to my wedding which is coming up in August. I wish I knew what to say, but I am truly at a loss for words right now. From the day we met in Pittsburgh and all of our adventures in the STP Program to the fun times in Boulder, I will always treasure those memories. You are truly a wonderful person. I hope to see you soon (when I can get to Colorado). Love, Sam P.S. Keep up the hard work! I am so proud of you!

Hi Marla - I saw the new pictures Mark posted. There are some great ones. Hope you enjoyed your time in Glenwood at Christmas. I have been babysitting a little 6 month old Bichon, Bennie. He is so funny. By the time he goes home he is exhausted and just wants to sleep. He did not have a very good home prior to be adopted by my friends so he just wears himself out playing with my dogs. He lives just down the street from your parents house in Glenwood. Hope you are having a good week. Hope to see you the next time you are in Glenwood. Melody

I have just read and experienced the beauty of your drawing and Liz's story. To reiterate the obvious, you are an angel, more than an angel. You are inspiration and hope-- you are eternal grace to those of us who struggle to understand. Thank you, brave Messenger for the timely reminder. Love to you and you family, Maureen

Hey Marla! Thanks for joining us for lunch on Saturday! Steve will never eat another crouton again without thinking of you. By the way, what did your mom say when she saw the salsa in your leftover quesadilla? You and Steve are so bad! What a beautiful day it was! I don't think I've ever seen the pooch park so crowded. It's so nice to have you back in town to share warm weather days with! See ya soon! Love, MM

Hi Shmars! Happy New Year! Well, it has been three weeks that we have been in our new house and I am thrilled to say it feels like home. You will also be glad to know that the Pooch agrees. She is now reigning as Queen and has claimed all soft spaces in the house as her own, including bathroom rugs! We can't complain, we are thrilled to see her so well adjusted and happy. Mike and I spent our first Xmas away from our families and shared a lovely home made dinner and a day full of painting the kitchen on Xmas. It was a blast despite not being with everyone in NY. We continue to paint and furnish the home... we have made lots of progress. I must say, it is pretty great being married to a guy who loves to fix things, build and use power tools. Sure does help to get things done quickly. I loved seeing your photos, you look fantastic! Mike and I are off to Las Vegas on Sunday for business for a week with 35,000 other IBMers, including my Dad. Before you know it, we will be out in CO seeing you. We can't wait! I'll write more soon. Thanks for your beaded candy cane, it went up on the tree as soon as we opened the envelope. I send you all my love and wishes for a healthy and happy 2004! See you soon.... xoxo, Lynz

Hi Marla! Me again! Looking at your pictures and reading your updates reminded me of how much fun our visit was. The travel highlights may have been the gondola ride and the hot springs pool, but my favorite moments were singing "If I Had a Million Dollars" with you, and how hard you laughed at our "school picture" of you, Steffie and I. I have some cute ones from our gondola ride and up at Exclamation Point that I'll give you when I see you this week so Mark can post them too. Today is FREEZING cold -- I bet you didn't want to get out of your cozy bed with Puckster warming your feet! Have a great day today! Love you! MM

Hi Sweetie, Can't wait to see you on "this side of the hill". We have had a marvelous holiday season with many adventures to share with you. Both Julie and I took lots of photos of Cade and Vince and of course, Daisy! She was a bit confused by all the comings and goings, but she sure did love all the Christmas cookie crumbs that found their way into her mouth. I'm so glad to see that Mark captured your picture and my story together on your website. It is really special. Let's plan to do some scrapbooking together in January. I know you have lots to teach me and I am ready to learn. See you soon! With love, Liz and Julie
