Hi Marla! Great pictures! It's so funny to see pics of you dancing, since dragging you on the dance floor was always such a challenge! :) Looks like it was a fun night. When are you coming back to school? The kids were asking about your Spring Break! I bet they'd love to see the pics of the herons. Talk to you soon! Love you! MM

Dear Rembrandt, uh I mean Shmars! What a gift you have! That Starry night chalk picture was simply amazing. To top that off, the picture you made for Mike and Me was just beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! We love it and show it off to all of our friends with much pride that we love the artist! Love the new photos and am sure glad to see you are having such nice weather there. It doesn't feel like Spring here yet, pretty gray and chilly but at least it's not snowing. We miss you and love you! xoxo Lynz

Hi Marla! I got back from San Francisco last night...my flight was delayed 2 hours, so I didn't get back to Denver until 1:15 a.m.! I'm just a little sleepy today! But I had a wonderful time with my family. We ate sushi, shopped, went to Napa Valley and tasted yummy wines, had a luau, went dancing and to a club to listen to a Reggae band--that had two Filipino lead singers, now there's an interesting combination! The only thing that was a bummer was that I had a sinus infection/cold the whole time, so I lost my voice! How was Glenwood? Are you back? Are you coming to school tomorrow? Now I only have 3 weeks until I go to Maui! Yahoo!!! See you soon! Love you! MM

Dear Marla, I sent a message to you last week at the "Marla Swims" e-mail address Missy gave me. But I don't think you got it. I hope this works better. I'm so sorry I missed seeing you and your parents when you visited the ESC. The desk where you left your note isn't mine, so I didn't see it right away. I'm not even sure just when you left it. I think about you so often and am absolutely deighted about your progress. Your amazing courage, strength and perserverance, as well as your continued humor and joyous spirit are truly an inspiration to us all. I especially love the picture of you with your kitty. You know how I adore little, furry, feline persons! As for me, I'm working like crazy...but not for long! I'm retiring from District 12 in June!!! Exploring some possibilities for part-time work, like maybe supervising student teachers or working in one of the schools that has a program for novice teachers. Some of my very best teaching experiences were in PIE, working with you, Amy, Karen, and Kira. So I'm hoping I can do something like that. But only part-time, for sure. I have a special man in my life (at last!) and want to spend more time exploring the world with him. By the way, I had lunch with Linda Molner and Chris Bryan yesterday. They both send their love to you. So, my dear, what days and times are you at Glacier? I'd love to come see you. Love and hugs, Carol

Hi Marla. I hope you're doing well. I hear that Jessica was going to try and get out to see you. I hope that worked out. As for me, I have been busy with my licensure exam (took it on March 2) and planning my wedding. My proposal to Theresa aired on a TV show on TLC called "Perfect Proposal" on Feb. 2. I'll let you know the next time it is on. I hope you're well. You are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the hard work. -Sam

Hi Marla! Just thinking about you so I thought I'd send a quick email to say hello. It was great to see you last month...I hope we can do it again sometime! School is winding down for the quarter...I have one more test and then I am done with school, at least for a week. Ya-hoo! Chip and I are off to Telluride to ski and relax for a few days. I can't wait to get away. Hope you're doing well! Tell Puck I said hello. :-)

Hi Marla - I just viewed the pictures from January and Feb. The frog picture was great. The dog show looked fun too. Mark wanted me to tell you my funny story about making his birthday cake. I was making a red cake for his birthday and you have to use 2 bottles of red food coloring, anyway when I was cleaning up one of the betters from the mixer flew out of my hand and ended up on Malcolm. I was shreking and Malcolm was running around with a better on his back and Montgomery was trying to lick the stuff off of the better anyway I finally got the better off of Malcolm and then he had two big red streaks on his back and ear. Ron had to totally scrub him. We did not get all the red off so when he was at the groomer we forgot to tell her and she thought she cut him. It was pretty funny seeing him run around with this thing on his back. We babysit another little Bichon on Wednesdays now. He is only 8 months old. His name is Benny. Take care. Melody

Hey Marla! Thanks for helping out with getting the CSAP books labeled yesterday! That was a great timesaver! The kids really enjoyed reading with you again, too. Have a good time in Glenwood next week. We'll miss you! Student-led conferences are tomorrow, so it will be a LONG day. I'll stop by tonight with your stamping stuff! :) Love you! MM
