Hi Marla, So very glad your surgery went well and it is all behind you now. And even though physical therapy (we've all had to do it)is not the most fun thing to do each day, with your mindset you will work hard to make that elbow work! So hang in there, we are thinking of you, and praying for an easy recovery. And hi to your parents and Mark for us. Next time you see Julie Anderson and Liz Beerman, please tell them hi from us. And what a story about Tiffany's sister being your nurse - I remember Tiffany as a student in junior high school. That's all from the California front. Headed back home in June. Take care. HI SHMARS! You truly are a bionic woman! I remember getting all of the plates and bolts taken out of my hip in my second surgery, I still have the hardware today. It's an interesting paperweight. We have some great news, my brother Jared just had his first son on April 21 at 10:29PM. He weighed in at 8lbs 6oz and his name is Colby Harrison Goldstein. We get to see him today and can't wait. I got to see him after he was born but I haven't been able to hold him yet. I stare at the picture you made us every day and think of you often. I've been on Mike's case as he still owes you a piece of artwork, but I promise, you will get something soon. You were in my dream last night giving me a hug. It was great. :) I'm so happy to see your surgery was such a success... you'll be bowling in no time! Keep up the good work, sweetie. You are in our daily thoughts and prayers. We love you! xoxo Lynz and Mike

Hi Marla, I am not sure if you remember me or not but I was one of the nurses who cared for you after your elbow surgery. Anyway your mother gave me your website to see your drawings. I had no idea what a journey this has been for you. What a wonderful idea to develop a website to educate and keep friends, families and well wishers informed of your progress! I love being a nurse but I wish that I could spend more time with my patients and their families getting to know the "real" them. It is kind of like the iceberg theory. There is so much more to the patients/families than what we get to see. I am so glad that your mother gave me your website. Like I said before . ..what a WONDERFUL idea ! ! I have a younger cousin whom was critically injured in car accident in Nov. 2003. She also suffered a TBI. Her trials and tribulations have seemed to follow along a similar course as your own. I would like to share your website with her and her family if you don't mind. She is from a small town in Kansas and went through rehab. at a hospital in Nebraska. I recommended Craig Hospital but because of insurance and funds they chose a hospital closer to home. She is at home now but continues to struggle with day to day tasks and issues. I hope the physical rehab on your elbow continues to go well for you. I know you must be very excited to get back the movement in your arm again. Come back and visit us sometime . . .not as a patient though! Take care and tell your mom and dad hello for me . . and thanks again for sharing your story. . you are an inspiration . . . .and make what I do very rewarding :) Kelly

Hi Marla! I hope everything went well today! I thought about you! At the moment I'm sitting in my hotel room in Maui listening to the waves crash on the beach outside my balcony! It's so beautiful here. From the beach this afternoon we saw whales out in the ocean coming up and playing near all the boats. Take care! See you soon! Love you! MM

Hi Marla and everyone, I recently read that you were going to have major surgery on your elbow, a Total Elbow. I think you have already had your surgery Marla and I hope everything went well. Thats a big procedure followed with lots of physical therapy. How wonderful to be able to have motion in that joint again. You're a trooper and I know you'll work hard again to get that elbow going. We're all thinking of you and when your parents have time maybe they can let us know how everything is going. Bless you Marla and we pray you have a great result. Pat

Wow! What a wonderful talent you have! Your chalk drawing of "Starry Night" is absolutely amazing. How are the evaluations & surgeries going? No doubt, it is tough, but if anyone can handle it, you can. Plus, you have those wonderful parents to help you out. Keep the wonderful pictures coming. I love seeing them on the website. As for me, all is well. I passed my licensure exam, so now I can be a real-life shrink! Scary, huh?

Hi Marla: I am a writer at the Glenwood Springs Post Independent. I have been covering your progress over the last year and am so happy to see your pretty face on this web site! I understand you are going in for surgery soon, and want to let you know I'm rooting for you. I also want to let your mom know that we'll be running her letter in the newspaper this week (I think Thursday, 04.15 or Friday, 04.16) about you. So let her know. I send all good wishes your way. We're thinking of you! All the best, Carrie
