Marla, you looked absolutely beautiful on Saturday. Thank you so much for being there to stand up for us -- you were there when we met, and it meant the world to have you with us on the first day of the rest of our lives. We love you very much! Missy and Steve MARSH :)

I just wanted to thank you for sharing a part of your birthday with me and my family. We enjoyed "taking over" your place and just hanging out. I've missed that a lot. I can't wait to do more of those. You impressed me with your independence and awesome progress. Time can heal. I pray you continue to make even more strides as time passes on. You have a wonderful family Mars...I'm so overwhelmed by their labor of love. Keep on plugging away in that true Marla spirit and dedication. I'll see you soon again (without my "adorable" rugrats!) Love you mucho, Ness

Happy Birthday, Shmarsipan! I always think of you on this day, and remember it fondly cause it is so close to mine. I hope you can celebrate with a big smile on your face and remember all of the people who love you and send their positive energy your way. I was thinking just the other day, what a gift this website has become. It must be wonderful to see in black and white how many people love you. I hope your 30th brings you joy and love and a bright future for the next 30 years. I was just looking through some photos of Idaho, and I was thrilled I still had them in electronic format. I'll fire em over this morning.. I'm sure you'll love to see them. The photos were taken the day Mike and I got engaged. We love you, Shmars. Happy Birthday. Love, Lynz

Dear Marla, Thirty years ago today, you were born at Swedish Hospital (next door to Craig Hospital). I remember saying, "Hurry up, baby!", but you were teaching us that you will do things in your own way and time frame. Dad disappeared for awhile, and came back with 4 roses--one for Marla, Mark, Mom and Dad. We loved our 8# 3oz. premie baby girl. You were a bundle of joy and have continued to be a bright light in our lives and in so many others. It was odd that, all fall, I had been dreaming of you as a baby. After your accident, I have watched you rediscover your world, with intense curiosity and amazing courage. I can only imagine the trauma you have endured, and I feel privileged to have walked this path with you. Happy Birthday; God loves you.....Mom

Dear Marla, It was so good to spend time with you on Wednesday and to be able to go with you to therapy. I hope your mom and dad will let me take you, and then they can have a day off! I admire you so much - you are an inspiration to all of us. To see you work so hard at therapy and not complain, and at the end of the day, see you smile and tease your dad was unbelievable. You are awesome! I hope you have a great trip to Glenwood this weekend. I will see you next week. Much love, Ann

Hi Shmars! It sure is wonderful to see you up and around and better yet to see you smiling! I would love to take a trip to the botannical gardens and the Zoo- if only there were enough time in the day... Your progress sure is remarkable. Things in Boston are really busy, between work, planning the wedding as well as tons of birthdays, Mother's Day and Father's Day and a couple of showers, I'm not home very much. But I really can't complain. Mike and I send you love and hugs from the East Coast. Keep up the good work and keep smiling, Sweetie. Love, Lynz
