Dear Marla, You have been in my thoughts this summer. I don't know where the summer has gone. I talked to Missy today about going for a hike next week with you both. I hope we can work it out. Hopefully, it won't be too hot! Looking at all your recent pictures was fun. Missy's wedding was something, and you looked so nice. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. Love, Ann

Hello Beautiful! Wow, you were a knock-out at Missy's wedding. I love the pictures of you hiking too. I know the outdoors are very important to you. The fam and I had a great July. We did way too many things and spent way too much money... we need an August paycheck, SOON! Hugo's mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law and neice and nephew stayed with us during the 4th of July weekend and some. We did a lot in a litle bit of time. We saw awesome fireworks on the field at the Rockies Game (took forever to get home), we went to the Bay and took the kiddies swimming (Gabe is getting good), saw more fireworks at the Thornton field (I got a few bites), Hugo played golf with the guys and I entertained at the Butterfly Pavilion. I'm tired just writing it! Four days later (after a marathon of laundry) we took a baseball trip to Grand Junction! That was my absolute first time ever up there in that area. I drove through your hometown. I wished the tourney was there! I can't wait to go back and actually stop in that town. Anyway, it was a beautiful drive. The kids had lots of fun swimming in the in-door pool at the hotel...cheap thrills. We lived out of our suitcase for 5 days in over 100 degree weather.HOT. OH! A few days after your b-day, but before the 4th, we took a drive to Colo Springs. After a rain delay we cut the night short and stayed in a hotel and missed our day at the North Pole, (maybe again next year) and the next day we drove one more hour to the Royal Gorge. That was very cool. Walking over the bridge was our favorite part..it was really windy and at one time gusty. We could actually feel the bridge sway..Annalise clung to me like a cat. Gabe nearly sprinted, sending Hugo after him. Then our 6th year anniversary (on Missy's wedding date) and my 29th birthday on the 17th... we need more money. And the month is still not over. Well, I'd better be getting, suddenly it's way too quiet in my home, where and what are Gabe and Anna doing? I think of you everyday and pray for your and your family's continued strength and endurance. You Rock! I love you mucho, Ness

Howdy, Schmars-a-pan! Been thinking of you lots seeing as it has been a year since your trip out to potato land. Lyndsay and Mike made the long trip out here again for the 4th and we all agreed it wasn't the same without you! We did, however, kick booty in the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off winning Best Presentation. I suppose it would have been a littel more flattering to actually win for the taste of our chili as sopposed to how it looked, but hey, appearance is something! Summer here has been hot but nice. SO many visitors, so little time. WaterLemon (the name of our store) is doing great and paying the bills. Mom and dad started building their Boat House on the pond and the Barn is actually in its finishing stages. Crazy. Mom is a permanent fixture here seeing as how she has a billion decisions to make a day. Steph and the kids and My Mitchie are all coming to visit next week. Never a dull moment! Mark is great--he gets a lot of extra brownie points for putting up with me as well as my mother. I think he is a keeper! I sure do love and miss you and I think of you and pray for you every day. Keep at it, kiddo, and don't forget to put the $$$ in the oven (inside joke, remember???) I love you!

Marla, Just wanted to let you know how wonderful it was to hear your voice last month when I talked to you on the telephone. I am so glad my mother called me when she and my dad came to see you because I think about you all the time and wonder how you are doing. I may be getting over to Denver the middle of next month for training and if it happens, I sure would like to come visit with you. I will let you know when I find out if I can take this class on August 18th. That's on a Monday so I can come over on the weekend before and that would give me time to see you as I have wanted to do this for some time. Please take care and say hi to your Mom, Dad and Mark. Love, Alison

Dear Marla, I was so happy to see you last Friday in the pool. You are doing so well. When I told "baby" Howard you were here, he said, "Mom, I want to visit her." He was so pleased to see how well you are doing. Our family continues to be inspired with your progress and activities. The photos are great. You look beautiful in pale lime green. Keep up all your efforts. Listen to lots of your favorite music. Hugs, Annig

Hi Shmars, What a beauty you are! I loved seeing those pictures at Missy's wedding. It must have been really great to be there with her and celebrate. Mike and I went to Idaho to see Meg and some other friends from Cali for the 4th of July. We had a great time and stopped in the same place we took the photo of the three of us (Meg, You and Me) in front of the peonies last year. You were definitely missed but there with us in spirit. The weather was great and we had lots of laughs. I'll be sure to send you a link to the photos. There are a lot of them. We didn't win the chili cookoff over all, but we did win for best presentation. You'll see why when you see the photos. Life on my end is still pretty busy with the wedding just 71 days away.. but who's counting!?! ; ) I am in NY right now and I have my second bridal shower tomorrow. It sure is fun! I hope you are having a great summer. It's so nice to see you out enjoying the Colorado sunshine and hiking! Know I'm thinking of you.... Much Love, Lynz

Marla, You looked lovely at the wedding. Missy's dad and I were so glad you could be there, and I know that Missy would have felt a real loss without your presence. You have made Missy an even better, more compassionate person than any of us, including her, could have imagined. Missy loves you. I guess I had a bit too much excitement during that week because I came back to Ft. Lewis with a touch of pneumonia. I'm glad to be back in my house though. Missy's town house was getting TOO cosy with us in addition to Missy, Steve and the dogs. Have you seen Scout lately? He's so good with Harley. We're going to dinner tonight at the residence of the Japanese Diplomatic Counsel to Washington State. I wonder what they'll serve. I know people who have been stationed in Japan, and they have told me that the Japanese serve some very strange food. Take care, will write again... Fondly, Vivian Soriano

What a thrill to see the the latest pictures, Marla. What a joy to see you with your kitty, friends and family - and your Doctor who is so pleased with your progress. I hope to see you soon - we leave for a family reunion tomorrow, but then we are in town for a while, and want to touch bases. You continue on our church prayer chain, and are in our prayers daily. Hugs, Karen

Hi Marla, long time no email...sorry about that. I guess since I took the early retirement I have treated every day as if it were a Saturday...bad bad bad!! Shame one me...oh well somebody has to be bad...why not me.?? I spent this 4th of July with your Aunt Marty. We had a great time and lots of laughs. How was your 4th? Did you get to see any fireworks? Don't you just love fireworks...I do...and if I had to bet...my guess would be that you do too!! haha...Do you remember Krista..my daughter? Well hip hip horrah...she graduated from highschool...and she is touring Europe as I write. Her trip is with a group of kids who have all graduated this June and they left on the 21st of June from Lax to Frankfurt. They left Frankfurt via train and went to Paris stayed a few days & then trained it to Madrid - stayed a few days and then Barcelona...she called and said that they all go topless in Spain...hahahaha...just hope she doesn't try that one. Anyway they left Barcelona and took the train to a little town in France called Orange and then from Orange to Niece and then to about four cities in Italy. She just called today and was in Venice. She is homesick and is craving Mexican food....go figure..Mexican food when your in Italy. I guess we're never happy. Anyway Krista will be flying home on Thursday and has requested Mexican food when she gets home. Well Miss Marla, just wanted to check in with you and fill you in on our latest boring stuff. I do hope that your are doing better and getting stronger with each day. I want you to know that you are constantly in our prayers. Your are a sweetie & a great inspiration to all of us. You hang in there Marla, God has big plans for you. Oh before I forget...remember the spot where Nichole and Nick were married...well I drive by it a lot, and it always reminds me of that beautiful wedding and the entire bridal party...including YOU....anyway those 'barking seals' send their love to you xoxo Sharon

Hi Marla: Just checked your web site to see what is new. We are is Warrenton, Oregon. Because it was 4th weekend, we just kind laid back rather than get out on crowded roads. We drove around a little today, but do not want to take in too many sights as we do not know what the elderhostel will be taking us to see. Leave tomorrow for the hoste. We did drive up on Thursday and it is going to be very rustic, but imagine that Raven will love it. Take care -- think of you often. Love, Anita

Hi Marla-- I wanted to tell you again what a delight it was to see you at Michael and Gretchen's wedding. It was the pinnacle of a day that had LOTS of high points! I've thought often of what your dad related to us about your visit with God. I can only imagine how much work it's been for you to return to us. I don't have words to tell you how much I admire you and your family for making that journey. It must be so nice for you to be back in your own home with your kitty. I hope that each day brings a bit of progress and a bit of encouragement for you in some way. With love, Jan
