Hi Marla! Great pictures! I think that's one of the few pictures of me in full belly mode -- I'm going to be a whale by the time March rolls around! Have you gotten all your Christmas shopping done? I was at the mall today, I thought it wouldn't be too busy because it's during the week...boy was I wrong. I'm glad I'm all done now! We had our Marsh family gift exchange on Sunday. Baby Marsh is already spoiled, and he's not even here yet! We head down to Colorado Springs on Thursday to spend Christmas weekend with my family. I'm so excited to have my mom and dad back in Colorado! No more flying over the holidays! Thank you for the cute card you made! Your handwriting is getting so good! Take care and have a very merry Christmas! Love you! MM

Dear Ms Gettman I am now in 4th grade. I wish you were my teacher in 3rd grade, but i had Ms Hoglund. Are you going to come to the sockhop when we have it in March? Will you dance with me again? What is santa bringing you this year? I want some mechanical pencils, and i am asking for some on my letter to him. Are you excited for Christmas to come? It is my birthday on Thursday 23rd December. I am going to have a chocolate cake. Lots of love from Matthew

Dear Marla, Just a note to say "Hi." I just got back from Tucson, AZ, this afternoon after spending a couple of days with my father-in-law, Dorsey. It's always fun to go see him and his sweet, pampered dogs. (And it's always wonderful to get home to my sweet, pampered cats.) Dorsey and I made ourselves a Christmas dinner yesterday, of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes and all the usual holiday yummies, and we celebrated Christmas together, a week early. I'll hope to get to talk with you sometime over the holidays. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family. Love, Sylvia

WOW!!! Have not logged on recently and could barely believe the progress you have made! Snail's pace for you, I'm sure, but very impressive from my vantage point. You continue to be an inspiration to all those you know, and to those of us who just get to read Mark's updates. Love to your parents. (I'll write a note, Mary, in our Christmas card.)

hi marla and family! I am so sorry that this is the first time I have emailed you! We did just buy our computer about a month and a half ago. We had gone way too long without one! Well it sounds like you are doing great!! we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. I am going to miss seeing you. Chadd and I (and our 3 kids) moved up to Montana this last april. we are loving it up here! It is so different from Colorado, but it is still beautiful. There are a ton of lakes in the area and 2 ski areas close by so we can still go snowboarding. we are going to be teaching Vance(he's 4 years old) how to snowboard this season!! Sydney is doing great on skis and Ava is only 1 1/2 so she isn't doing anything on the slopes yet!! We bought a house in september and we just love it. it is in the old downtown area and the house is about 85 years old. it's really cool!! i need to figure out how to send you pictures over the internet. Chadd is working in the OR at the local hospital here in Kalispell. I still get to stay home with the kiddos!! Sydney started the first grade this fall. It is so weird because it seems just like yesterday that I was in Mrs. Dowdy's first grade class, now I have a daughter old enough to be in school. well, i need to go to bed now. i hope to hear from you soon! much love, marla

My daughter suffered TBI from car accident approx 4 months ago. She is making good progress, but she cannot open her right eye. Her vision in it is ok, its just the eyelid won't open. Doctors tell us there is a good chance it will open on it's own at some point. Does anyone have any experience with this?

What an incredible witness you are to so many, Marla. I have received strength myself and have shared your journey with others that needed a boost. You and your family are ALWAYS in my prayers and often in my thoughts. Hugs and love, Karen

Dear Marla & Mary, Hi, I couldn't find my copy of your Glennwood address, so I thought I'd send an email. I've been thinking of you. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I wanted to thank you for your phone call a while back. I did get your message and well wishes! I am healing. I now get around mostly with crutches. It's a slow process, but it is progress! I am going to physical therapy. I know you can relate - being so dependent on others has been difficult. Taking care of "mom" has been quite the family affair these past couple of months! Marla, how have you been doing? Are you able to go swimming regularly? Mary, how have you been feeling? I have managed to see Ann every couple of weeks. She seems happy with her schedule this year. If you get a chance, please send your address. I do still hope to come see you sometime this winter! Love and best wishes, Lory Courtney

Hi Marla--it was lots of fun to hang out with you, Mom and Dad, and Puck and Ziggy for Thanksgiving! I know I am thankful for all of you! Sorry we missed out on the fireworks at the Hotel Colorado. Next year we'll know what time to show up! See you very soon. Love, Mark

Hi, I have been keeping up with Marla's story, as it is close to my heart. My 20 year old son had a TBI that was two years ago this thanksgiving day. He has had to re-learn to speak, also. I am curious to know if Marla has a palatal lift.(looks like a retainer) It has helped my son SO MUCH! Just thought I wanted to mention it as a possibility for Marla. If I can help others going through anything going "UP" this TBI road, it makes what we have, and are going through more worth while. Big hugs and prayers to your whole family! Tina

Dear Friends, Hi - I was delighted to receive your letter this week, and the newspaper. I've written a letter which I mailed yesterday along with some pictures. Just now I checked to see if the current update might be available, and I appreciated getting all the new information. I can only begin to imagine how busy you have been with the move and all the decisions and paperwork which accompany such a move. I'm still getting on my feet after my long preparation and move of myself and my cat shelter earlier this year. Mary and Leo, my prayers are that you can relax a bit, now, and greatly benefit from not having to do all the Denver driving. It must feel good to be in your own home, though I'm sure it is a big adjustment for you and for Marla. Marla, the evening at Glacier Peak must have been incredible! I loved reading the poem written by your grandfather. May God bless you as you are adjusting to the move and getting your plans and schedules set up, there in Glenwood. Love, Sylvia

Hi Marla! Steve and I just got back last night from Seattle, visiting my parents. They are all packed up and are getting ready to move down to Colorado Springs, which we are so excited about! We had a really nice visit, spent most of the week on Ft. Lewis, for the farewell, change of command, and just hanging out. We got to go to the flight simulator and learn how to fly a Blackhawk helicopter, and also to the weapons training center and learned how to shoot M-16's and machine guns! Steve thought that was so awesome! It was a computerized program, so it was like a great big X-Box. We're glad to be home, though! I tried to read the latest update, but it's not showing up on the page. I'll check back again later! XO Missy

Dear Marla & Family, I hope you haven't thought I've fallen off the face of the earth. Mom is still here, a lot longer than I'd planned, and I've been extremely busy. I'll be taking her back to Okla., leaving on Monday or Tuesday next week. I've been busy with the election, also; I'm an incurable political junkie, and I did some volunteer work. Your message section said that the most recent update was Oct. 31, but the most recent one I can get is Sept. 26. I'm assuming you have moved by now, and I trust that all went well with the move. I'll look forward to talking with you before too long, and (of course) I have more kitten pictures to send. On Monday, I woke up to our first falling snowflakes of the season. It didn't last long and didn't accumulate, but the weather has been cold. Love to you, Sylvia
